赵耀副教授，上海交通大学

Dr Yao Zhao starts the role as an Associate Professor at the College of Smart Energy, Shanghai Jiao Tong University in July 2022. Before this appointment, he first worked as a Postdoctoral Assistant Research Fellow in Shanghai Jiao Tong University for one year and then joined the Clean Energy Processes (CEP) Laboratory of Imperial College London as a postdoctoral researcher for further academic training for more than two years. He received his PhD degree in Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in September 2018 and holds BEng and MEng degrees from Central South University. His research interests focus on large-scale thermal energy storage and thermo-mechanical energy storage technologies, covering materials, components, systems and their corresponding technical analysis and cost estimation.

Dr Yao Zhao is an experienced young researcher in the field of energy storage and has published more than 20 high-quality journal and conference papers as well as two book chapters. He applied for 4 patents and two of them have been authorised. He also conducted and took part in over ten national research projects funded by China and UK. Besides research works, he shows great willingness in serving the academic journals. In November 2021, he launched a special issue on thermally-based energy storage technologies in the journal of Applied Thermal Engineering together with the editor-in-chief and has attracted over 50 submitted papers from all over the world so far. Recently, he has been appointed as the Young Editorial Board Member by two newly established journals issued by Elsevier: Energy Storage and Saving and Green Energy and Resources. He also served as the Technical Committee Member and Session Chair of The 15th International Conference on Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics and Thermodynamics (HEFAT 2021).

赵耀，上海交通大学智慧能源创新学院副教授，中南大学学士、硕士，上海交通大学博士， 曾在帝国理工学院从事博士后研究工作。研究方向为储热及热机械储能技术，内容涵盖储能材料制备与开发、储能单元设计与优化、储能系统集成与控制等方面。已发表期刊与会议论文 20 余篇，撰写专著章节 2 章，申请发明专利 4 项（2 项授权）。主持国家自然科学基金青年项目、全国博管会博士后国际交流计划派出项目等国家级项目 2 项，参与国家自然科学基金重大项目、国家自然科学基金重点项目、国家重点基础研究发展计划（973 计划）、英国工程和自然科学研究委员会（EPSRC）基金项目等国内外科研项目 12 项。担任 Applied Thermal Engineering 期刊储能专刊客座编辑、Energy Storage and Saving 期刊青年编委、Green Energy and Resources 期刊青年编委等、第 15 届国际传热、流体与热力学会议（HEFAT2021）学术委员会成员和分会主席等。
